After years of seeing matchsticks along portions of Rt. 6 in Goochland County I finally found this regenerator about 35/40 miles outside of Richmond. Next potential regenerator is probably near Scottsville or at the point where this spur route should tie into the backobone. An odd note, the route contains several extended markers labeled "Splice" where seen without any splice boxes (splice markers R-4 and 7-18 have been found so far) covers. One would think that Williams could afford splice covers inteads of directly burrying the splice...
This route briefly shares Route 6 with MCI fiber where Rt. 6 and Rt. 522 merge in the town of Goochland. MCI fiber continues in either north or south directions along Rt. 522 outside of the town while WilTel's fiber continues along Rt. 6 towards Richmond or Buckingham County.
