Dotting the sides of Rt. 301 (Richmond Tpke./Ft. A.P. Hill Blvd.) are a series modern looking exposed aggregate equipment shelters that are thought to support an original AT&T Corp. lightguide (fiber-optic) cable router from the Faulkner, MD microwave station to the microwave/switching office at Grace St. (Richmond 1) in downtown Richmond, VA. A plot of the known repeater huts seems to support this theory. On the map the abandonded Edge Hill cable facility is shown for refrence. Based on comments from a site visit by Albert LaFrance it is not thought that this facility supports the current fiber optic route.
