Alot going on in a big office! Rocky Mount is the site of a No. 4XB tandem installed in April of 1974 and operated by CT&T. This switch is not thought to be in service anymore and is included for historical purposes. Additionally, Rocky Mount also seems to have a large connection to AT&T housing one of AT&T's long distance switches and doubling as a POP into AT&T's network. Secondary proof (numerous fiber matchsticks and two AT&T trucks in the parking lot) seem to confirm this thought. The STP information comes from a Nebraska CLEC tariff filing, but that could have been deduced from the size of the office. Unconfirmed but I thought I saw TCG fiber access covers on the side walks across from the CO. Also QWest has a fiber optic regenerator just northwest of the office so a brief spur does not seem out of the question.

The entries for BellSouth Mobility DCS and Nextel are thought to be correct. Nextel seems to have a habit of colocating their switches in existing major LEC offices. I don't know enough about BellSouth Mobility DCS to think that they would act any differently than Nextel. The other wireless entries are probably backhaul equipment.

Another angle of the building shows just how big the office is as well as the prominent Sprint logo which is one of the first sites one sees apon entering the area.
